Yet another Lighthouse Depot Road Rally is in the record books. The turnout was great with cars from Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Missouri, Minnesota, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and, of course, the New England States.
Thirteen of the competitors were Sports Car Club of America’s elite category of “Grandmaster.” On the other end of the spectrum; some of the competitors were “first-time” rallyists. All teams finished the rally route.
This was the fifth annual Lighthouse Depot sponsored Road Rally, which began at Lighthouse Depot on U. S. 1 in Wells, Maine. We received many compliments about the early Saturday morning fresh brewed coffee and for the delicious donuts from Congdons Bakery, which is located just down the street from Lighthouse Depot.
Funds raised from the Lighthouse Depot Road Rally are donated to the American Lighthouse Foundation to help in its efforts to save America’s Lighthouses.
