The 150-foot tall Pensacola Lighthouse in Pensacola, Florida has undergone some recent major restoration work. The conical brick tower was built in 1859. “The crack repairing and repainting is probably the most extensive refurbishment the lighthouse has had since the 1880s,” said Jon Hill, executive director of the Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum. The restoration was being done by International Chimney, a company that has been involved for a number of years with numerous lighthouse projects around the country.
