The keeper’s house at St. Simons Island Lighthouse in St. Simons Island, Georgia was recently renovated and updated. The renovations included repairing rotting shutters, the porch, and the roof. Also, a new heating and air conditioning system was installed, the original wooden floors were refinished, and upgrades were made to the interior for better display of exhibits. The renovation culminates a two-year fundraising campaign that netted $1.3 million for the project. The keeper’s house is open to the public.
