We don’t know who the people are in this photo of the now endangered Gay Head Lighthouse on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. We also don’t know the year that it was taken, but it would have to have been before 1952 because the Fresnel lens was still in the tower. The keeper’s house is no longer standing, having been demolished in the 1960s. Threatened by erosion, the Gay Head Lighthouse is now one of the most endangered lighthouses in the United States.
