Stan Farnham, President of the Florida Lighthouse Association, in his keeper’s uniform and Sam Bailey, 86, the Chairman of the Historical Preservation Committee, at the Transfer of Ownership Ceremony of Florida’s Sanibel Island Lighthouse. Bailey, who authored the book A Sanibel Son Looks Back, is considered a legend on Sanibel Island. The City of Sanibel is now the official owner of the lighthouse.
