The Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse held there second annual spring clean up of Lighthouse Cove, which is on the mainland offshore from the lighthouse.
Collected this year were 32 bags of rubbish and 18 automobile tires. This was back-breaking, tiring and dirty work that shows why lighthouse volunteers make a difference along all the coastlines of America. The Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse, a chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation are proud of the fact they are part of such a dedicated group.
Pomham Rocks Lighthouse, seen in the distance, is located on a small island in the Providence River in East Providence, Rhode Island. The group has been working on the restoration of the lighthouse since 2004.
