The historic Belle Tout Lighthouse is now saved from being lost forever, thanks to its owners who were dedicated to saving it from certain destruction. In 1935 King George V and Queen Mary spent the night here. However during World War II the abandoned lighthouse was used for target practice by Canadian soldiers. Belle Tout Lighthouse finally became privately owned and was eventually restored.
