Photo Caption:
The Monroe Pier Lighthouse, circa 1910. You can see here that the Fresnel lens has been removed from the lantern room. To the right of the old wood tower is the new gaslight erector style light that would replace the old lighthouse and the keeper. The lighthouse no longer stands. Photograph of the Monroe County Historical Archives. Back to the edition of: December 2000
