There used to be two lighthouses at Matinicus Rock Lighthouse. When the station was downgraded to one lighthouse, the lantern was removed in the 1920s from the other tower and in 1929 the old lantern from Matinicus Rock Light was installed atop the Poe Reef Lighthouse in Michigan. Matinicus Rock Lighthouse Station in Maine’s Penobscot Bay, as it appears today. Back to the edition of: Nov/Dec 2015
