This image from the lantern room deck of the New (1929) Michigan Island Lighthouse shows that grounds restoration by the original (old) Michigan Island Lighthouse included extensive removal of encroaching trees. Portions of the light stations original cherry and apple orchard trees would now be replanted in this area. Back to the edition of: Sep/Oct 2013
