This is the architectural drawing of the proposed lighthouse for Prudence Island, Rhode Island – “The Lighthouse That Never Was.” This was the image we published in the last edition of Lighthouse Digest as our trivia question, asking our readers if they could identify which lighthouse this would have been. We even gave a clue. However, there were no correct answers submitted. Instead of using these plans to build a new lighthouse at Prudence Island, the government took the original, and no longer being used, 1823 Newport Harbor, Goat Island Lighthouse in Rhode Island and moved it to become the Prudence Island Lighthouse.
