Walter White was serving on the San Francisco LV-70 when this photo was taken in 1908. This was his second stint on the lightship which lasted until 1909 when he married and then remained permanently ashore doing other Lighthouse Service projects in the Point Arena area until becoming a lighthouse keeper in 1913.
