Burnt Coat Harbor Lighthouse on Maine’s Swan’s Island as it appeared in 1975 when the Coast Guard left and boarded up the station. Swan’s Island is named after Colonel James Swan of Fife, Scotland, who purchased the island and some surrounding areas and organized their colonization in the eighteenth century.
