Otto Bufe was promoted to head keeper when he transferred to Michigan’s Au Sable Point Lighthouse from 1903 to 1905.Unfortunately, only personal family tragedy marked his time there with the deaths of two of his children. Built in 1874 on the southeastern shore of Lake Superior, the lighthouse in now within the boundaries of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.(Lighthouse Digest archives) Back to the edition of: Jul/Aug 2020
