Photo Caption:

The 1904 Crisp Point Lighthouse near Paradise, Michigan where John E. Smith was the first head keeper at the newly completed light station. However, he only stayed there two years. In 1965, the Coast Guard demolished the keepers’ house and other buildings at the site. Once on the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List of Endangered Lighthouses, the lighthouse was saved by the Crisp Point Light Historical Society, which has done an amazing job of revitalizing the site.
