Ellie (Elsie) Hilden Resendes was born March 13, 1918 in the family home near the Esopus Meadows Lighthouse. She had a great love of animals and wildlife, and though she and Manny never had children, she had several cats. After their split, her family built a house for her on the Hilden homestead where she spent the remainder of her life quite contented.
