Actress Helen Reddy stands on the lantern deck of the faux Pasamaquoddy Light, which featured a replica of a 2nd order flashing Fresnel lens that was 8 feet high by 4.5 feet in diameter. It cost $6,000 to create the lens which was likely cast from resin. Special permission was given from the Coast Guard to have the light on while filming the night scenes as it would be confusing for mariners in the vicinity to see a lighthouse there at Point Buchon in Morro Bay.
