The dangerous and precarious situation after Hurricane Irma is evident by this image showing the now tilting 10-foot tall Barefoot Mailman Statue and the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse. The statue, dedicated in memory of mailman James Edward “Ed” Hamilton who lost his life delivering the mail, was moved to the lighthouse grounds in 2003.
