The Nantucket Lightship in the waters off Portland Head Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. For a time the vessel was docked in Portland as a floating museum. Since the vessel was decommissioned it has had a number of different well intentioned owners. However, each time the ship fell victim to politics, or lack of adequate marketing and management and most importantly lack of adequate funding.
