Ray Hartzel, the last keeper of Maryland's Point Lookout Lighthouse, raises the same flag that was flown at the lighthouse when it was decommissioned in 1966. Point Lookout Light Station dates back to the 1830s and the current lighthouse was built in 1883. It is at the entrance to the Potomac River in Chesapeake Bay. (Photograph by Sandra Sableski.)
