Frankfort Pier Lighthouse, Michigan It could be said that the fog bell tower at the Frankfort Pier Lighthouse in Frankfort, Michigan somewhat resembled the Whitestone Point Lighthouse. If you look closely, you might even say that the lighthouse and the bell tower were a composite of the Whitestone Point Lighthouse. Sadly, neither of these structures stands today. The most complete history of the lighthouses in Frankfort, Michigan ever published was in the March/April edition of Lighthouse Digest. That story can also be found in the on-line archives at www.LighthouseDigest.com. (Vintage post card image courtesy of Terry Pepper, Executive Director, Great Lakes Lighthouse Keeper’s Association.)
