In 1966 the upper tiers of this lighthouse were removed, but one tier was left on top of the caisson and a helipad was added above that.

Description of Tower: Three-tier white steel tower on a steel and concrete caisson.

This light is not operational

Date Established: 1906

Date Deactivated: 1966

Optics: 1906: Third order Fresnel lens (transferred to Old Point Loma Light in 1966).

Fog Signal: Compressed air fog whistle.

Current Use: Replacement beacon is an active aid to navigation.
