Eaton’s Neck Light in New York is currently under scaffolding while extensive interior and exterior renovations are made, including repairing the brownstone, window and lantern, replacing the old electrical grid with a new one containing a main circuit breaker. Also, the lead based paint on the cast iron stairs and railings will be removed, and as will the floors and wall/ceilings which have been found to have asbestos-containing material. The original structure was built in 1798, with large alterations in 1858 and 1868, and currently sits in the USCG Station Eaton’s Neck, which is the oldest Coast Guard Station in New York.
