On Saturday, August 7, 2021 (National Lighthouse Day), in a ceremony at the Annapolis City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland, the new Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse postage stamp was unveiled, along with the other four stamps in the series.

The U.S. Postal Service was on hand with an exhibit where the new lighthouse stamps and First Day of Issue envelopes were available for purchase. The Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society was also present with a booth displaying information about the history of Thomas Point Lighthouse that has been lovingly restored by the group.
