The past few months have seen some restoration work being done at Georgia’s famous Tybee Island Lighthouse.
Built at the mouth of the Savannah River the Tybee Island Lighthouse is not only the state’s oldest light station, but it is also its tallest.
The work included interior ironwork as well as brickwork. The tower was closed to the public while the work was being done. (Photographs courtesy Tybee Island Historical Society.)
