You never know where a Fresnel lens will end up. Such is the case with the 4th order Fresnel lens that once lighted the lantern at Ragged Point Lighthouse at the entrance to the Potomac River, which is now on display at the Highland Lighthouse and Museum on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
The lens was installed at the Ragged Point Lighthouse when the lighthouse first went into operation in 1910. When the lighthouse was discontinued in 1962, the lens was removed from the lighthouse. Just where it went after that is unclear, but it eventually ended up at the Highland Lighthouse and Museum where it remains on display to this day
