This past Memorial Day, a small group of people who are dedicated to preserving the history of Little River Lighthouse gathered at the Old Cutler Cemetery in Cutler, Maine and placed a U.S. Lighthouse Service Lighthouse Keepers Memorial Marker at the tombstone of Lucius Davis, who served as the Little River Lighthouse keeper from 1870 to 1896.

Timothy Harrison, who organized the event, read a brief history of the time that Lucius Davis served at the lighthouse and then he put the marker in place. After the memorial marker was placed, Terry Rowden, who served as a Coast Guard keeper at Little River Lighthouse from 1968 to 1970, placed the United States flag into the holder of the marker. The event concluded with a prayer given by Harrison. The same group of people, along with others, had, in past years, also placed memorial markers at the gravesites of Roscoe Johnson and Willie W. Corbett, who were also keepers at Little River Lighthouse.
