Of the many lighthouse related collectibles that are sought after by a large segment of lighthouse aficionados are products that are associated to Beacon Feeds. This may be because these items seem to stand out among the rest, or because so many were produced, making them easier to find. The company used a screw-pile style lighthouse in its logo that was put on all of its signs, feed bags, and other promotional items including milk scales, rulers, and matchbook covers.
Over the years we have had several different styles of the Beacon Feed bags that we have traded, sold, or donated. We have also bought, sold, traded, and donated a few of their unique signs and we still have one in our collection. One of the most unusual signs that we recently saw for sale on eBay was one that featured an image of a turkey with the words “Turkeys For Sale - Grown on Beacon Feeds.”
Shown here are a couple styles of the Beacon Feed bags and a Cattle Crossing Sign that is in our collection. The image of the large sign on the truck is from a vintage post card from Harold K. Falls in Nicholson, Pennsylvania who was obviously a Beacon Feeds dealer. Today, to the right collector, a sign that large would be a very desirable collectible.
