Our thanks to Kathryn Savela who helped us to identify this old newspaper movie press photo that has been in our files for many years as that of actor Walter Brennan who played the lighthouse keeper in the 1946 movie “A Stolen Life,” which also starred Glenn Ford, Bette Davis, and Charles Ruggles. Reportedly the fictional lighthouse is on an island off the coast of Massachusetts. Proving the attention to detail that the producers used, in one of the scenes of the movie can be seen the words U.S. Lighthouse Service above the door to the lighthouse.
