Recently another slice of Maine’s lighthouse history has been rediscovered with photographs sent us courtesy of Karin Elliott Whitney and Sam Elliot.

Veteran lighthouse keeper Capt. Edward D. Elliot, who served at Maine’s Cape Elizabeth’s Two Lights Station during World War II, was the last civilian keeper to have served there.

In one photo he is shown in his lighthouse keeper’s uniform and the other adorable photo he is shown with his grandchildren Martha and Sam.
