As time marches on and the people with first hand memories are lost, it becomes increasingly more difficult to identify people or find out information about them.
The person who gave us this photograph believes it to be of Edmund Howe who was a lighthouse keeper at Maine’s Cape Neddick Lighthouse, which is more commonly known as Nubble Lighthouse.
Edmund Howe was stationed at
Nubble Lighthouse from 1928 to 1930 and reportedly died of a heart attack while on duty. It is also possible, if this photograph is of Edmund Howe, that he might have been stationed at Great Duck Island Lighthouse and have been related to lighthouse keeper Samuel Howe.
But we still need additional verification to substantiate if this is indeed Lighthouse keeper Edmund Howe. If any of our readers can help us, please write to
