The Fresnel lens that flashes from the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse on the Mendocino Coast of California was restored to service in late 2023. A gear in the aging motor failed in December 2022, halting the white flash every 10 seconds to shine from the lantern. The Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association stated that the motor received a complete overall, as well as the lens, lamp
and everything cleaned and re-lubricated.
