Shown here is the lantern room from the Cedar Point Lighthouse, Maryland. It is now on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Air Station in Patuxent, Maryland.

What remained of the lighthouse (it was on the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List) was torn down in 1996. The wooden portion of the keeper’s quarters was delivered to the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons. The remaining brick walls of the first two floors were simply knocked into the water. It is fortunate that the U.S. Navy saved the lantern room.
