The Joanna Marie, captained by Stephen Cates, was the largest of the five boats that ferried nearly 500 people to the Little River Lighthouse during the first International Lights Across the Border Lighthouse Challenge. The remote lighthouse station is on a 15- acre-island located at the entrance to the harbor in Cutler, Maine, and is owned by the nonprofit American Lighthouse Foundation.
