The Charlevoix South Pier Head Lighthouse, also known as the Charlevoix Pier Light, in Charlevoix, Michigan, was first established in 1885 at the Lake Charlevoix entrance to Lake Michigan on the outer end of the north pier. In 1914 when the south pier was extended the wooden tower was moved from the north pier to the end of the south pier and a new steel erector set style tower was placed on the north pier. In 1948 the wooden tower on the south pier was demolished and replaced with this steel tower of similar design to the original wooden tower. The lighthouse can be easily viewed by the general public.
