This photo, from the Davis family photo album shows the lighthouse as it appeared while they were living there. Frank Davis Jr. recalled that he and his brother and sister loved life at the lighthouse and they wouldn't have traded those years for anything. He recalled that all of the brass always needed polishing, and they always helped out. He said he remembers polishing the fire extinguishers, brass oil lamps, dust pan and even the brass pipes leading from the stove to the hot water tank. Their father always reminded them that they were living in a "government house" and it was the entire family's responsibility to take care of it.
