Ted Dernago Jr.(r), of the United States Coast Guard accepting his American Lighthouse Foundation, "Keeper of the Light" award from Tim Harrison, president of the Foundation. The award was present to Dernago for his role in the development of the Maine Lights Program which turned over 30 lighthouses from Coast Guard control to local ownership. Also presented with the "Keeper of the Light Award" for conceiving the idea of the Maine Light Program, at the evenings presentation was Peter Ralston of the Island Institute in Rockland Maine.
