For a time, the Newport Harbor, Goat Island Lighthouse was also home to the very active Goat Island Lighthouse Buoy Depot. You will notice a large number of buoys and anchors stored on the dock, and moored at the lighthouse is a side-wheeled lighthouse tender. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
