In the 1930s, keeper White turned Point Hueneme Lighthouse into a landscaped garden spot with beautiful ringed flower beds and flowering shrubs, fish ponds, trees, lined paths and even an aviary. No wonder they had to advertise special visitor hours for the many people who wanted to come see it. (Courtesy of Betty Westby) Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2022
