Photo Caption:
These men, who were assigned to install the government’s exhibits at the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition, took time to insure that they were remembered for posterity when they posed in front of the Department of Commerce sign, before it was hoisted up for display. Unfortunately, we don’t know their names. However, four of the men in this photo are wearing Lighthouse Service hats. The 5th man from the left appears to be the captain of a Lighthouse Service buoy tender, who perhaps was in charge of delivering a buoy for display. Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2019
