Charles R. Monteiro’s daughter, Anna, followed the family tradition by working for the Coast Guard for eight years as a social worker. She was the Family Program Administrator in the Work-Life Office in the 8th district. She also was a volunteer docent at the New Canal Lighthouse in New Orleans for a brief stint.
