In the annals of history, there are many lighthouse keepers and other lighthouse personnel who lost their lives under various circumstances while in the employment of the Lighthouse Service. For the most part, most of these people have been forgotten over time.
However, in an effort to help honor and keep the memories of these people alive, this column will honor one or more of these people in each and every issue of Lighthouse Digest. We also hope that descendants of these people or others will come forward and place U.S. Lighthouse Service Memorial Markers at their gravesites.
