This portrait of James S. Langlois was most likely taken in the early 1900s. James holds the record for the longest service at a single lighthouse along the Pacific Coast, and possibly across the entire United States. He served at Cape Blanco Lighthouse from 1875 to 1918 for a total of 42.5 years. It was said that he never even set foot inside another lighthouse his entire career. (Courtesy Steve Langlois.)
