The Door County Maritime Museum has three venues: Cana Island Lighthouse, the Sturgeon Bay main campus (pictured) and the Gills Rock museum at the very tip of the Peninsula on the shores of Porte des Mortes (Death’s Door). In addition to the Sentinels of the Shore exhibit on lighthouses, the Sturgeon venue includes tours of the moored John Purves tugboat and other galleries with exhibits on boat building, shipwrecks, ship models, steamships, and the maritime history of the area presented through many artifact and interactive displays.
