As Senior Airman Michael Drown of the Maine State Air Force presents the folded flag to Timothy Harrison, editor of Lighthouse Digest, he said, “On behalf of the President of the United States and a grateful nation, please accept this flag as a symbol of our appreciation of the lighthouse keepers who served our nation so faithfully.” Plans call for the flag and photos of the ceremony to eventually be displayed at the Maine Lighthouse Museum in Rockland.
