Notes:
The original lighthouse here was destroyed by the Germans in 1944. A "temporary" light erected in 1946 remained active until 1955. As the English Channel is only 17 miles wide at this point, the Cap Griz-Nez light can be seen at night from Dover and Folkestone on the English coast.

1837: White circular tower, 46 feet tall, dwelling attached (tower raised about 33 feet in 1861). 1946: Lantern on a pyramidal skeleton tower, focal plane height of 213 feet.
