Notes:
There is a legend of a ghostly woman in white supposedly seen in the tower. She is said to be the ghost of a keeper's wife who threw herself over the cliff to her death after her husband had fallen over the bluff.

Museum?
There are monthly open houses at the lighthouse, held on the second Saturday of every month from 11 am to 3 pm. Tours are available for schoolchildren and other groups; call (310) 541-0334 for information. The lighthouse can also be viewed from the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, where the 3rd order Fresnel lens that was once used in the lighthouse is now on display. Located in Rancho Palos Verdes on Palos Verdes Drive South, about 1/4 mile south of the southern end of Hawthorne Boulevard.
