The Coast Guard still maintains this active aid to navigation, which lies inside the West Sister Island National Wildlife Refuge. At one time the island was used by the Army for target practice. The keeper's house was demolished in the 1940s. Tower Height: 55 Height of Focal Plane: 57 Description of Tower: White, conical stone tower with lantern removed.
