Notes:
This lighthouse is at the entrance to Bass Strait between Australia and Tasmainia; the area has been referred to by mariners as the "The Needle's Eye." The lighthouse was replaced by a small solar powered beacon in 1994. Parks Victoria then leased the station to Tourism Great Ocean Road Pty Ltd. for 21 years.

Directions:
Cape Otway is just over 200 km (about 3 hours) from Melbourne. Take the Princes Highway (M1 and A1) to Geelong. On the west side of Geelong turn onto the Great Ocean Road (B100) and proceed through Lorne and Apollo Bay. Approximately 16km to the west of Apollo Bay turn left onto Lighthouse Road (C157). The Cape Otway Light Station is 13 km from the Great Ocean Road turnoff, at the end of Lighthouse Road.
