Big Charity Island is the only uninhabited large island in the lower Great Lakes. The 322-acre island is privately owned. The privately owned keeper's dwelling, in poor condition, was razed in the spring of 2003, with the cellar remaining. A replica of the house was then built on the old foundation. See their website for details to visit the island lighthouse.
